About WINGS

When safety feels out of reach, WINGS is here.

At WINGS, we believe every person deserves to live free from fear. As a state-certified family violence program, we serve seven counties across central Georgia — Laurens, Bleckley, Dodge, Johnson, Telfair, Wilcox, and Wilkinson.

Our approach is simple: meet people where they are, listen to their needs, and surround them with professional, compassionate support. Whether someone needs immediate safety from violence, help navigating the legal system, or long-term resources to rebuild, WINGS stands ready as a trusted partner.

For over two decades, WINGS has been a lifeline — supporting survivors, strengthening families, and educating communities to stop the cycle of violence.

Advocacy Services

We guide clients through every step of their journey—offering legal support, case management, and help connecting with community resources. Our advocates also accompany victims to court or medical appointments.

Education & Prevention

WINGS promotes prevention through school programs, professional trainings, and community presentations that build understanding and inspire action against abuse.

Your Support Changes Lives

Every step forward begins with safety.

As a state-certified shelter, WINGS offers a wide range of services designed to meet both urgent and ongoing needs. Survivors can reach our 24-hour crisis line at any time of the day or night to speak with a trained advocate, access emergency shelter, or receive guidance on safety planning. Once immediate needs are met, WINGS continues walking alongside families through legal advocacy, support groups, and family-centered activities that foster healing and stability. For those transitioning into independence, our six-unit apartment program provides an affordable and supportive housing option that eases the economic burdens survivors often face.

Why We Do This Work

The goal of every service we provide is empowerment. We believe survivors are the experts in their own lives, and our role is to give them the tools, encouragement, and resources they need to make the decisions that are right for themselves and their children. Whether through counseling, skill-building, or simply offering a safe place to rest, WINGS seeks to create an environment where confidence and self-sufficiency can take root.

Beyond direct services, WINGS also works to shape the community’s understanding of domestic violence. Through education, prevention programs, and public awareness campaigns, we encourage a culture that recognizes the realities of abuse, supports survivors, and rejects the idea that violence can be tolerated. Every training, school presentation, and community event adds another voice to a growing movement that insists on safety, respect, and dignity for all.
